Little Gage

Hey everybody... so I have decided to write just a quick little blog to ask everybody a favor. My cousin's little boy, Gage Bingham is in the PICU in Boise. He was diagnosed with pneumonia last week at the Baker, OR hospital. His condition worsened and he was life-flighted to Boise. Since he has been there his conditioned has just gotten worse.

He has para influenza (not treatable) and RSV and is in the beginning stages of ARDS (acute respiratory distress syndrome) which Stacy said means that it is 3-7 days they get sicker, 3-7 days they stabilize and then it takes 3-7 days for them to pull out of it. So he is in the beginning of our 3-7 days of getting sicker.

Apparently he took another step backwards last night. Here is the latest blog post from his Daddy, Jason.

"Gage took a step backwards last night. Spiked a fever and they had to up his Vent to 100%, he was at 45%. It was a very long night for Stacy and Gage. Still very sick. They have an IV in his forehead, I just couldn't take a picture. Still VERY puffy. They say his kidney's and other organs are still working. We will update soon. Please pray for our little boy. It's hard not to be scared.

For those of you who aren't familiar with this family, their 8 year old daughter got very sick about 3 years ago and received a heart transplant 2 1/2 years ago. It is hard to fathom that their family should have to go through anything like this again. So I am just asking you all to please keep little Gage in your prayers. Every prayer will help. Please pray for him, as well as his family.
